SALT Dental Partners is Hiring an Orthodontic Dental Assistant Near Jersey, NJ

Heights Orthodontics, a new and exciting orthodontics office located in Jersey City Heights, offers exemplary, convenient, and cost-efficient orthodontic care in a fun and welcoming environment, through exceptional customer service and community outreach efforts. We are seeking a highly motivated orthodontic assistant with excellent verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills to assist the Orthodontist with initial patient consults and regular check-ups.

The successful candidate should have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to ensure the safety of patients during orthodontic procedures as well as an ability to demonstrate patience and provide a safe and welcoming environment for patients. The candidate must also be willing to work in a highly fast-paced environment and be available during all open office hours:

  • Monday 9am-5pm
  • Wednesday 9am-6pm
  • Friday 9am-5pm
  • Every other Saturday 9am-2pm

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate records of patients' oral health histories and treatment progress.
  • Ensuring that all orthodontic instruments and equipment are properly sterilized before each use.
  • Taking intraoral X-rays of patients’ mouths.
  • Taking photographs of patients’ teeth to aid the Orthodontist in developing treatment plans and to document patient progress.
  • Taking intraoral sans of patients’ teeth for the fabrication of customized Invisalign and retainers.
  • Removing and replacing wires, coil springs, and elastic bands and placement of Invisalign attachments.
  • Educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices and braces aftercare.
  • Disinfecting patient areas and sterilizing orthodontic instruments.
  • Participating in office events such as community outreach efforts and continuing education courses.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour DOE

Expected hours: 35 per week

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience working as an orthodontic dental assistant.
  • Sound knowledge of various orthodontic procedures and practices.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Must speak Spanish.

Experience:

  • Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • X-Ray Certification
  • Coronal Polish

Compensation commensurate with experience.
